Quasilattice Multiresolutions

Abstract

The integer lattice $\mathbb{Z}$ in the real numbers $\mathbb{R}$ gives a hierarchy of lattices $\dots 4\mathbb{Z} \subset 2\mathbb{Z} \subset \mathbb{Z} \subset 0.5 \mathbb{Z} \dots$ used in binary searches and multiresolutions for numerical computations. Using the golden mean we construct quasilattice hierarchies related to Fibonacci searches and analogous lattice multiresolutions involving deep Diophantine problems.
